In May of 2016 I hosted my wedding at Pocono Manor Resort & Spa assisted by Nickole, Catering Manager at the Inn. I can say without reservation that I highly recommend Nickole. In the course of our interactions, Nickole showed herself resourceful in developing solutions, dependable in completing tasks by agreed upon deadlines, conscientious in her attention to detail and visionary in her problem solving skills. She proved to be very responsive to suggestions and demonstrated exceptional event planning abilities that are indispensable when planning a wedding long distance as I did.
Nickole did an incredible job in juggling a myriad of tasks prior to the wedding and on the wedding day itself. Event planning is a fast paced setting that often changes at a moment’s notice. Because of Nickole’s skills, her attention to detail and responsiveness, my wedding was a huge success to me and my guests. Numerous guests remarked how this event was one of the most fun and well planned events they had attended, and If I must say so, I agree with them.
The property is very charming, but it is old. Over 100 years old as a matter of fact so it has its bumps and bruises. that being said, it added to the uniqueness and charm. If and when you are looking for an event venue in the Pocono's, be sure to consider Pocono Manor Resort & Spa and ask for Nickole to plan your event, you wont be disappointed.
Beautiful venues, amazing food, and a fantastic wedding planner. Nickole Fish is so organized and so sweet. She is making the wedding planning so easy, and taking alot of stress off of me, the bride. she is simply the best and I'm so blessed to have her as my wedding planner.
My wife and I were recently married at the Inn. Having booked our wedding about 2 years prior to allow ample time to prepare and being from Central NJ, we had made many trips to the Inn prior to our wedding to meet with our wedding coordinator, Nickole Fish, and vendors. Because of the distance to the Inn, we always book an overnight stay on the American Plan, which includes dinner that night and breakfast the following morning.
We can't say enough good things about the Inn and their staff. Nickole did an excellent job planning our wedding, paying attention to all of the specific details which we requested. She was always quick to reply to us in our communication, which was quite often, especially in the months leading up to our wedding. Our stay is always highlighted by the great hospitality from the servers and bartenders, especially our favorites, Pat and Patricia, 2 of the nicest, most helpful and friendliest people we have come across in our travels. We were married on site and the rooms in which the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all fabulous. The food was outstanding as well.
I can honestly say that we have loved every trip that we have made to the Inn, with the ultimate one being our recent wedding. All of our family and friends commented on the great location and food at the wedding. My parents have already returned for a visit since then and we plan on making a trip soon as well. Being an old hotel, they've done a great job of maintaining the grounds and rooms. Anyone looking for a cozy setting with great food and hospitality for a wedding, vacation or special event should look no further.
Not our first trip to the Inn so the quirks were to be expected. It's an enormous Inn with all kinds of banquet rooms, a game room, indoor pool and a movie theater where you can request your movie (Mrs. Doubtfire, Yogi Bear, etc.). Really fun for the kids. Crazy stairs can get you lost -- rooms starting with numeral 3 are actually on three different levels. Elevator lands you on a level and then depending on your room you may hit two small flights of stairs before you get to your room as we did (first in 342 but then in 343 as the TV was not operation in 342 -- that issued was resolved quickly by the way). You can do better than the food served in the bar (Lamplighter Lounge) but hey you are not staying at the Inn and Pocono Manor for fine dining. The chili was passable as were the cheese curds (like mozzarella sticks) but not exactly a great value. The one thing that is beyond me is the ice skating on the property.
It's funny we have been going there for years and have never skated, either because of weather (even when it seemed like it was fine) or because the activities person was unable to check the ice because he had a family emergency. This past weekend (Feb. 12-13) we managed to get ahold of someone at 4:15pm who said "yes, you can skate but we close at 5." We were about to scramble to the pond but they also added that it is $10 per person even if you have your own skates as we did. As paying guests with our own skates, why in the heck do we need to pay $10pp to skate on their little pond? I don't get it. But that aside it was a good time.
And if you are a new Yorker, wow, you will probably run into someone you know. I was left to wonder if the Catskills had been wiped off the map. 75% of the people there are from New York. I guess I-80 is like a funnel. All in all, the Inn delivers the essentials: clean rooms, solid service, enough amenities to keep the kids happy and food. It's not Great Wolf but you are also not paying Great Wolf prices.
Hotels who host weddings will go out of business if they do not provide the proper space, quality food and/or the right atmosphere. So check all that off as the Inn will surpass your expectations in these categories. So, why pick The Inn?
Easy. The people.
From Tracey Lynn at the front desk, to Patricia the hostess in the Mountain View dining room, up to the General Manager and down to the front line worker, you are never going to find such quality people at any other hotel. We promise. By the time we left, we thought we were leaving our 2nd family behind. They will help and assist you whenever you raise your hand. It is the people who work at the hotel you stay at that will make or break your stay. I can name a dozen others... every interaction seemed to be a quality interaction. By the way, this goes for any event or get-a-way. It does not have to be a wedding...
But if you do choose to have your wedding there, DEMAND Nickole Fish as your wedding coordinator. If she's booked the weekend you want, consider changing your weekend!
My wife and I could write you a novel on Nickole. She single handedly delivered to us the wedding of our dreams. She owned every scenario; she made herself accessible beyond our expectations (and when planning a wedding, access to your person is critical); she cared about our details, no matter how big or small; she managed tough scenario's with grace and professionalism. We never felt alone, we never worried, and we were able to "let go" and enjoy the biggest day of our lives. In hindsight, we cannot possibly imagine pulling off what we did without her. We will forever be in her debt and whenever we think back to our magical weekend, she will be front and center of those thoughts.
The Inn's amenities cover all age groups. You can hide in the Pocono mountains, or, take their shuttle to the casinos. Golf? Check. (You'll never play another hole on the planet like hole #7) Spa? Check. Arcade and pool? Check. Of course they have and indoor and outdoor one! Amazing shopping outlets? Check.
We will be back to the Inn again and again and again without fail.
Don't pass on this place!
We just returned from a two night stay at Pocono Manor Resort & Spa. What a great place! The hotel is historic, but is well kept and has a stately elegance. We enjoyed looking at the pictures of the hotel from bygone eras hanging about the hotel. What really sets this place apart is the staff.
Traci Lynn at the desk is an exceptional employee who really went out of her way to make our stay special. She definitely goes above and beyond! Every staff member we ran into was friendly and welcoming. There is so much to do here - and you can take advantage of the many offerings - or just chill out and relax. Definitely ask for a room facing the back - the mountain views are just spectacular.
We ate at both the restaurant and the pub - both good places to eat! There are two pools - one indoor and outdoor, an onsite spa, the a beautiful golf course. We did take a walk on one of the hiking trails - Nice! Don't miss this gem~ If you are looking for a "cookie cutter" run of the mill hotel room, this is not it!
This was the second marriage for both my husband and I. We wanted our venue to be small and intimate. After visiting many ceremony locations, nothing compared to our first stop, Pocono Manor Resort & Spa and Inn. The views, menu choices, location and accommodations were just what we were looking for. What made the Manor stand out was not only the above but the professionalism that we found in Evan, our wedding coordinator. He was extremely personable and easy to deal with.
Throughout our multiple changes, calls and questions he was always available and willing to accommodate. Evan made our six months of planning a success. Our special day would not have been the same without his expertise. Anyone looking for a wonderful wedding experience for the bride, groom and guests should not hesitate to contact Pocono Manor Resort & Spa and Inn.
We had our daughter’s wedding at Pocono Manor Resort & Spa. When looking for a wedding venue we were looking for a resort. We thought it would be fun for our guests to have other things to do then just go to a wedding. We couldn’t have asked for a better place. Many of our guests came a day early and stayed a day later then the wedding, so they were able to absorb the charm of the Inn. The staff was amazing, so friendly and interactive with our guests.
The wedding and reception were beautiful. The food was very good & everyone enjoyed the cocktail hour in Marmaduke’s. Evan Shepp the Wedding Coordinator was excellent. He was always available for our questions/requests/concerns as we navigated through the wedding process. Evan really helped to reduce the stress that comes with hosting such a big event. We love the guest rooms at the Inn. They are nicely decorated & the beds are comfortable. Everyone of our guest raved about the breakfast too. There was such a variety at the buffet and everything we tried was wonderful.
We are so glad that we went with the Inn! We were considering some other venues but really wanted one that had room for the ceremony, reception, and a place for guests to stay. Evan Shepp was very accommodating and responsive. Everything was beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get married in the Poconos!
I had my wedding at Pocono Manor Resort & Spa a few weeks ago. The wedding coordinator, Evan Shepp, was wonderful! He was professional, responsive, and went above and beyond for us.
