Enjoy a complete golf experience less than two hours from New York and Philadelphia!

The Inn at Pocono Manor is a five square-mile mountaintop resort listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Over the 100 years our 18-hole East course has been in existence—with holes designed by classic-era giants Donald Ross and William Flynn—it has challenged dozens of top professionals during tournaments and pro-am events. Art Wall Jr., Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead, Tommy Bolt, Cary Middlecoff, Robert DeVicenzo, and others have gone head-to-head at Pocono Manor over the years.

And the 18-hole West course, designed in part by George Fazio and completed in 1965, is a modern-style layout with wide fairways that dare the long hitter to be aggressive. The site of an LPGA event in 1977, the West course is the perfect complement to the East course’s classic-era routing and style.

In 2012, we are celebrating the 100^th birthday of the East course in grand style. In mid-May, national golf media, golf historians, and local dignitaries will gather at the Inn at Pocono Manor to view an exhibition of historical documents, course drawings, and photographs from the bygone era. Then they will take to the rolling hills of the East course for a relaxing and very scenic golf experience.

During that event, head professional Greg Wall will don early 20thcentury golf attire and use hickory-shafted clubs to compete against participants using their modern-day equipment, in a long-drive contest on the first hole. And at our original practice green near the fifth hole, players will use a very old, hickory-shafted putter to try to sink a putt under the same conditions that players faced in 1912. In all, participants in our 100^th birthday event will experience the way that golf looked and played in its infancy in America.
